Old inefficient open fire in Northamptonshire replaced with new Woodwarm Fireview 5kW slender multifuel stove
This old marble fireplace has an inefficient open fire basket in at the moment but the room is always cold as the house is old and this room has a large bay window. The chimney is extracting what heat there is from the room when the fire isn't on and when it is on 80% of the heat it creates is lost up there.
The chimney has an existing pumice cast in situ lining which has the correct installers data plate with installation date and so our HETAS engineer will pressure test this to check there are no leaks of fumes into the property. It needs a good sweep and this will be done first by our ICS registered chimney sweep.
We need to inspect the top of the chimney and seal it off during the pressure smoke test. A cherry picker will be used for access as it is safer than ladders and the Collyweston slate roof is easy to damage when ladders are used on it.
The new Woodwarm 5kW stove is now installed and is being test fired. The HETAS registered installer is explaining how to use the stove and advising on ongoing maintenance before handing over to our clients.
