Old open fire in Peterborough replaced with contemporary Woodwarm Pheonix Firebright inset stove and bespoke stone fireplace
This open fire and surround is looking dated. Our recommended stonemason, in conjunction with our client, has designed a bespoke Ancaster stone fireplace to be installed in its place ready for the new Woodwarm Pheonix Firebright to be fitted.
The old fireplace has gone and the masonry alterations can now be carried out ready for the bespoke stone fireplace to be fitted by our recommended stonemason.
The chimney is very dirty and will need to be swept by our registered chimney sweep before the new chimney lining is fitted. The brickwork has to be altered next and the aperture prepared before the new bespoke stone fireplace is installed.
The chimney will be accessed using a small tracked cherry picker here as we don't need to carry out any masonry repairs. This will be cheaper than scaffolding and only be there for the day we need it. The only snag is getting it across the lawn without leaving tracks and damaging trees but that won't be a problem.
The chimney has been lined and a new pot fitted by our HETAS engineer. A stainless steel pot hanger and separate cowl are used with the top section of the liner insulated to minimise the risk of tarry deposits forming in the top of the liner.
The installation of the new Woodwarm Pheonix Firebright inset stove has now been completed and the stove is lit as part of the Fotheringhay Woodburners commissioning, testing and handover process.
